Complaints:
- Viewers aught to be warned when video titles are simply translated to a language and not original content.

I’ve had multiple iPhones over the past three years with the same problem. Whenever I start a video on WiFi or data and then switch to the other YouTube will stop functioning completely, it will not load the playing video or anything else on the app. Even if I close and restart the app or reconnect to the original method the app still does not load anything. This results in a horrible experience as I travel a lot, and even made me consider cancelling my YouTube premium subscription.

The updates that have brought the slew of recommendations on user’s search on the site, require the app to be R-18 rated. User’s are exposed to some disturbing recommendations that do not fit into their searches which can have a traumatic impact on them. From searching cars to being recommended (I have never watched or searched related content) weird and disturbing videos as recommendations about bizarre medical conditions, was traumatising to say the least. The need to have people locked and using the site is leading to some disturbing recommendations that require the App Store to R-18 rate this app.

Now with this new update my shorts are filled with republican, transphobic, Ben Shapiro, anti abortion videos that I have never engaged with. U tube is a awesome platform but your thinking is sabotaged by money. If your purpose is prophet then eventually you will attract a competitor who will have the creative insight to make you irrelevant.
Essentially you are an advertising company hosting videos and there is an option of paying for the advertising to be taken away. You have machine learning which learns our thoughts and that's great but there is no creative thinking beyond this point.
I believe that your platform will lose most of it's educational attributes and become a little more than a news channel with tons of advertising.
Short term profits are pointless without long term value creation. Perhaps your aim is not true education or perhaps you have not thought about integrating information to a person on a very personal level, I do understand your algorithms is feeding them what they want which is not the type of content peoples minds need. Imagine it your teacher at school taught you only what you wanted instead of shaping your future mind.
I will gladly give you direction if I could join your team.

Since the update with more rounded ui elements (which I’m a fan of, save for the inconsistent rectangular countdown next to the thumbnail on ‘Skip Ad’), the media controls disappear sometimes and I either have to use MiniPlayer to pause (at this point media controls return until I press play) or close the app entirely and find the video in my history. Double tap works fine though.

Its good for watching but ads and dislike absolutely wreck it, some people say its watching a video between ads now because of the amount of ads added to the video and the dislike counter could help many people do better in their videos because of the criticism. WORST DECISION EVER. Bring back the dislike count. I found myself watching crap content because I couldn’t see how many people had disliked the video, I had to install a 3rd party extension to see it. You’re not protecting small creators or any creator at all actually. You’re only protecting major corporations and companies who are butthurt because their videos get ratio’d. You’ve ruined the platform, just by simply hiding a count. The worst part of it all is that no one wanted this, since you guys announced it, the announcement video has way more dislikes than likes, and it didn’t occur once that this may be a bad decision? I didn’t have a problem with this app until I just wasted the LAST DATA I had to download videos offline so that I can watch them the next day,oh but I was shooting myself in the foot and now I don’t have data and I also don’t have the videos I downloaded!!!

Glad to see mobile users finally have an easier way of sharing clips from a full length video. Great feature! Please check its use across multiple messaging apps though? As an example, Telegram works fine but iMessage doesn’t…perhaps because the video preview thumbnail in iMessage includes the full video, but only the descriptor text below it takes you to the clip - and further, the clip in iMessage is not the full 60 second clip I sent…it’s shortened…hope this helps find the bug. Otherwise great app and great new feature!

I like to view my videos in 720p when using mobile data but due to the limited options in the settings which only have data saver and highest quality, I have to set the video quality on each and every video which is quite cumbersome. Give us more control. Let us set our preferred quality and not just two options at either end of the spectrum.

The app doesn’t always refresh videos when swiping. Touch response periodically stops as well. Restarting the app works, but is not always convenient as the playlist is refreshed when doing that. Is a really useful app nevertheless. System: IPad Air 4, iOS 14.4.2.

Last day of the month and connectivity is a challenge. We switched the modem of for a few minutes but the problem persisted. It seems to be worse when it’s overcast as if solar power is involved.

I’ve downloaded videos for offline watching but suddenly it doesn’t work and only works when I connect to internet. I’ve done this multiple times before for but after downloading the video completely it just keeps loading but as soon as I switch data on or connect to WiFi then only the video plays.

It’s broken, please fix it: my offline videos are not playing, the other day they were all deleted. What’s going on with this new update?
I always chose the resolution I want to watch the video on on data network and it still insists on higher resolution, while I’m trying to save data. Could you just fix the bugs? They are now making it impossible to use the app.

Slow to recognize offline status

I’m using an ios 14.3 device and for some reason, the app takes a few seconds too long to recognize that my mobile data is off and give me the option to access my downloaded videos, even when I’ve just opened the app.
This is a problem because it used to do this instantly before I updated the app a month or two ago.

I had more than 200 offline videos downloaded and the app kicked me out . At this point I’m not shocked because it’s been doing that a lot . Now when I go back all my downloads are gone but here’s the messed up part they are still showing up on storage. I genuinely don’t know what to do . I’m just going to delete the app , I’m not gonna look for all those videos.

My experience of the internet has moved over the past 10 years from the search engine to defined web pages and platforms like You Tube.
It saves time, has incredible content and literally is an emery’s I’ve world on its own with a broad genre of content for a global audience across ages, cultures and personalities.
You tube is a true great step for mankind’s thirst for knowledge m entertainment and expression.

I think that you should let your advertisers know that bombarding us with advertisements and disturbing what we are watching is not a good tactic. Sometimes one advertisement is enough, imagine running into an add every 10mins. Some of your content creators produce videos that require focus and being disturbed to hear about a chocolate bar is so annoying that I’m going to support their competition.

Whenever I’m peacefully watching a video and get a notification or something that makes me go out of the app for a few seconds I come back and the audio is playing but the video is stuck it’s either that or the video goes completely black and the audio is still playing I then have to close the whole app and it does this 3 times a day on average it’s so annoying

It has been such a blessing to hear wonderful ministry each day! You tube is like a home-based university you can choose to learn absolutely everything - I have learnt all about growing vegetables. I love health and nutrition like dr Eric berg and dr mark Hyman. I am also so encouraged by motivational speakers but my favourite are Christian programmes like Billy Graham Joel Osteen and Joyce Meyer snd many other anointed preachers. I love listening to Les Bown too. Thank you so much !

This is amazing but my downloads delete themselves and it is extremely annoying. And sometimes the sound of the video keeps playing but the video is not moving then it tries to fix itself and goes back so I listen to than words twice

I really love this app & the entire platform. Just a few minor bug fixes and tweaks will do. I wish there was a bookmark tool of some sort because the watch later thing doesn’t work perfectly. There’s so much content I saved under watch later, just to find out that it didn’t save.

This new Swipe feature where you swipe to the next video while on fullscreen is so annoying and not useful. it always changes my video when I don’t mean it to and it’s not productive and really frustrating! either take it away or let us turn it off.

Awesome app but sometimes it glitches and sends me out of the app and then when I go back in it restarts but it gives me a choice if I want to carry on watching the video that I was previously watching
This doesn’t always happen but when it does it’s really annoying

Hi I’m not sure what happened, but since I updated the app, it has started using data instead of wifi. In my settings the app is still set to only work over wifi but now uses data instead of wifi. Not sure why 🤷‍♂️. I have had to delete the app to save my data.

There’s a glitch

I don’t know if it’s only me, but any video I watch doesn’t have any recommendations anymore under it. And whenever I minimise the video window, it doesn’t stay at the bottom, it goes a bit higher, and when I open it again the video is all black and the screen is cut in half. Also, I keep on getting two ads in the beginning of videos, one short that I can’t skip followed by the long ones that give me the option to skip.

I know this might seem crazy because everybody loves you tube. The this app is really not user friendly. There is no way you can go back to your history and for everything you need to go to your channnel. I do not want to post videos. Only watch. 🙈 PC version way better than app.

Really great app! Just a suggestion if there would be a way of clicking on a video’s options to say “Play Next”. More like a playlist being made as one is playing videos, more of a real-time playlist. Pretty much like how music can be added to play next in Apple Music.

Hi. Thanks for the service. Just adjust your software, so that when one gives a thumbs down for a song, if doesn't appear in a playlist again. Also, start playlist with a favorite musician, but not their same song......In addition, program your software to recognize that one has a different appetite for sins at different times of day.....if indeed, ons has. ( I do).

App download trouble

This app won’t download onto my phone. I had it previously installed on my old phone but now it won’t download on my new phone. I can see that it was previously downloaded because there is the download cloud icon but when I click on that it loads for a couple minutes and then returns to that symbol. My internet connection is strong for everything else. What’s the problem?

Improvements abound since my last review. I’m impressed. Love dark mode. But the discoverabilty algorithm or whatever you call it - stupid! Helpful sometimes, yes. But what makes you think I want to keep seeing related videos all the time? After a while, the entire feed is replaced by them? Or even more annoying, once you select “not interested” in a video, or related videos, I don’t want to see them again 3 months later on my suggested feed. I’m still not interested. Seriously. Fix!

For the last 3 updates this has not been addressed. When will fix this app? I’m tired of it telling me there is no connection but I load you tube directly in Safari! Sometimes it works but still doe not load all pics etc...

App not launching On WiFi nor mobile data

I saw a review earlier today and I’m having the same problem. None of my google apps launch on my iPhone. Especially the Google app :(
I use the Google (previously Google Now) app daily...weather, traffic reports before I leave home, which best route to take, etc. now...it just doesn’t load??? Restarted my phone several times and still the same. Every other app works perfectly fine.

Glitches in videos

Since I did the latest update the videos I watch will sometimes go into slow motion at random times during a video, or just suddenly fast forward, or even have a delay in sound, so the sound ends up not being synchronized with the video. This is extremely frustrating!!

Are Google and Apple undergoing some dispute that has caused ALL Google Apps to misbehave on all my iOS devices?!
Every Google app claims "No connection" whether I'm connected via LTE or a high speed WiFi connection. I then have to toggle the data and or WiFi switches on and off several times before any of the Google apps acknowledge I'm connected. And I have to go through the rigamorale with every app individually, multiple times a day.
What is happening?! I'm begging you to fix it! I can't do a thing productively anymore!
