I read this when I was in 6th or 7th grade then again a few months ago when I was at college . I love this book and I'm glad I read it twice cus I looked over so many things my first time and I couldn't relate as much as I could now. I read porches story and both of midnights & now it makes me love the first book even more. This whole journey with all of the characters is truly a work of art

I loved the book until I got to the last two chapters. I didn't want winter in jail and I wanted her to be with midnight 😥😭😭😭😪 but it was a very very very good book. I read it in one day. Next book 👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍

I first read this book many, many years ago and I loved it. I had to read it again to get ready for the sequel and I loved it even more the second time around.

I read this book at least once every year since 16! I love it! Even though I have the paperback I still purchased the iBook!

I first read this book at the age of sixteen. And I been a big fan of sister souljah since. I read it 8 times and every time since then as I got older I related to the book more and more. I think everyone in urban area in America knows or came across a young women like winter. She was so smart and had a lot of hustler to her. If she use her brain in the right direction. She would of took the world by storm. But she fell to the world of the New York streets. She was smart but stupid. The belly of the beast that is the streets took her life for a ride like no other. This is why I say every young women should read this book. To understand how there choices can and will impact there lives forever. Not only yours but your families also. Sister souljah hit the nail in the coffin with this book. Thank you sister souljah for this one

This book is relatable to all young women chasing material things not having a career oriented goals...after reading the book, I was so mad that things would end unexpected...I swear you want the best for Winter Santiago and you become attached to all the characters...However, this book teaches life lessons with a very attaching storyline...you won't want to stop reading...I'm mad I finished it so fast!

I read The Coldest Winter Ever 3x and every time feels like the first time. I think every young girl in the hood, that think dealing with these drug dealers is decent should read this book. This is my all time fav. I love this book from start to finish. It is a reality. And it goes on in our community everyday. Thanx you SS for this. I wish the book "Midnight" was a continuation of this but it wasn't.. Nonetheless it was a good book!

I read this book after my Grandmother brought it home autographed by Sista Souljah. At the Age of fourteen this book had a part in me making a drastic behavior change has a teen. There are alot of Winter Santiago's out there, and a little Winter Santiago that exist/existed in all of us.

As a kid I never read books. I started reading my friends and and had my dad buy my own copy. I would not put the book down.

I downloaded this on iBooks on my iPhone!!! And read 1643 pages in one night um yes! Imma fan! I read Midnight first and was itching to read this. Althought I think Midnights story was somewhat different in this book it didn't matter. PS if there's a Midnight out there somewhere! Hi! GoodWork I'm anxious to read more and SOON

I originally read this book in undergrad. Borrowed it from a friend who borrowed it from a friend. I let a friend borrow it and never saw it again. I read it while on spring break with my fiancé (now husband) and he was jealous because I was spending more time with the book than with him. I couldn't put is book down. It keeps you engaged the entire time. A must buy. I love this book.

Sister soulja is a very under rated writer. I own every book she has written. For a black man 2 read should true and up 2 date stories, situations, and conditions. Of our lifes doesn't get better then Souljas books!!!
