4 Pivotal Decisions in Life We Make Daily & 3 Ways to Approach Conflict Resolution in Relationships

4 Pivotal Decisions in Life We Make Daily & 3 Ways to Approach Conflict Resolution in Relationships

Länge: 1:22:19
How can we navigate the challenges of communication in relationships, especially when faced with difficult conversations?
How can personal growth and self-development impact our relationships, and what challenges might arise from this?
Communication is the lifeblood of any relationship, yet navigating tough conversations can be daunting. And society loves painting relationships with broad strokes, but the canvas of human connection is far more intricate.
Today, I am excited to share the conversation I had with Krista Williams of the Almost 30 podcast. We focused on why nobody teaches us about love and how to give and fully receive it.
Life has a knack for teaching us lessons that craft intimacy but let's not be swayed by the virtual façade. Instead, let's tear down the walls and unearth the truth behind meaningful connections that transcend screens.
Understanding oneself is the gateway to banishing the echoes of loneliness and by exploring love's multi-dimensional essence, we will learn the three focal points that breed growth, trust, and intimacy.  We'll uncover the roles we play in relationships and shatter society's molds to find our truth as well as unlock the art of communicating through discomfort.
In this interview, you'll learn:
The key decisions we make in life
How to unlock your truth
The real definition of love
The different roles we play in any relationship
How to deal with relationship struggles
How to set the right intentions
Your journey to self-discovery and enriched connections starts here.
With Love and Gratitude,
Jay Shetty
What We Discuss:
00:00 Intro
02:40 Here are the four important decisions you will keep making in your life
07:13 How do you get your relationship right? Maybe, allow life to humble you
10:11 The truth is social media doesn’t have much impact on genuine relationships
13:38 If you don't feel you understand yourself, you will feel alone
19:04 Love doesn’t have one definition, it has three key areas you can focus on
25:27 Spark alone doesn’t make a relationship work
29:40 Should people marry their bestfriend? Is it a healthy relationship choice?
32:00 Everyone grows at a different time and at a different phase
37:48 What are the three different roles we play in our relationships?
41:09
46:34 The projection society has for men and women might not be our truth
54:07 Not everyone is going to learn from the resource materials you have learned from
01:19:40 Are women going through personal growth, self-development, and work fatigue?
01:01:00 This is why making other people your purpose doesn’t work
01:04:31 We want to talk about how people behave and or how they act, but we don't want to talk about our intentions
01:09:02 People often struggle in a relationship because they don’t know how to talk about hard things
01:13:11 Books are not meant to be read, it’s meant to help guide you in difficult and challenging times

Jay has changed the way I live my life. I remember watching his videos 12 years ago and I am listening to his podcast now. I have had pretty absurd situations in my life and if I am still positive and happy it is because of the wisdom that Jay has given me. I am looking forward to see him LIVE soon and meet him.

Thank you Jay.

I enjoyed listening to your podcast, as it always makes me think!
People around me think I do too many things and am strong whereas I feel helpless about certain aspects of my life. Isn’t it so with many of us? We achieve a lot in certain areas but are helpless in certain. Does that still mean we are leading a life of helplessness?

I don’t usually listen to podcasts because I find them boring and just listening to someone talk makes me sleepy but listening to Jay Shetty’s podcast changed my mind. His voice is so soothing to listen to. I started listening to his podcast a few days back while cleaning my room thinking I will become a bit positive in life after listening to it which actually worked!!
Would love to hear more podcasts talking about how to control anger and deal with peoples toxic traits because I feel am surrounded with people with those traits and recently I have been having trouble with some of my friends cause I can’t control my anger.

I don’t really know if you are gonna read this but I really wanted to tell you that your show ‘on purpose’ is my personal favourite and your book ‘think like a monk’ is an incredible book. I have been practising the techniques that you shared in the book and it has changed my perspective about life like a 360 degree turn. I hope you keep up with the work you are doing ‘cause it’s changing the people around the world and it’s making our lives better.

Hi
I have been following your podcast for a while now and all are really life changing. I just wanna thank you for this podcast since it has really changed how I react to situations and people.

I wouldn’t have been able to survive without this. These podcasts are helping me get through an extremely painful time of my life. I discovered Jay’s book during lockdown. It was the most difficult time of my life because I had gotten married then and living with a joint family when lockdown happened. So lot of things were triggering me. But listening to Jay calmed me down so much, that I made it a point to go for a walk in the parking lot, put my headphones on and listen to Jay talking (through audible). It was like meditation, like therapy for me. It canceled the negativity I felt, and gave me so much calm. And ever since then I haven’t stopped. Every episode of the podcast teaches me something and I continue to learn. I hope one day I’m able to meditate in silence , but for me listening to him is meditation.

Hi Jay , this is Ramya from India. I love listening to your podcasts and I totally enjoy it. Honesty I have to say this at some point of time I lost myself , confused, didn’t know what to do. At that time I had listened to your podcasts and I also read the book “Think like a monk” and that book will be with me forever damn sure. I had all my answers in that book. I started reading the book with “a” mood and I’ll get the answer for “a” mood at that time itself. Thank you for making my life and seeing the things in another perspective which I didn’t see before. THANK U SO MUCH JAY AND THATS WHAT I CAN SAY . I wanted to do something for you but couldn’t get what is it. Maybe definitely in future I’ll meet you and express the feelings truly. LOVE U JAY ☺️🤗.

Greetings from India!

Dear Jay, I am an avid listener of your podcasts.
Oprah, I have never missed a single episode of the Oprah show which always steered me in a direction of awareness- of my surroundings, situations, experiences, people and above all of myself.
My deepest gratitude to that beautiful essence which is the true you.
Dr. Perry, I am absolutely mesmerised by the simplicity of tone that you have set along with Oprah for a subject as deep and layered as trauma.
This episode came at a time when I needed it the most.
Thank you to all three of you and may each of us continue to tread this path with greater and deeper awareness.
