Having to set the resolution to 4k everytime i play the a new video even after setting the picture at Highest Possible Quality to always from settings, the video still plays at 480p to begin with slowly going to 1080p but never reach 4k unless i do it own on my own through many click. The app have a monopoly that’s why it’s still enjoys such a big user base. I have a fast wifi connection but i still face this issue from a very long time. There’s nothing in the settings to fix this issue.

My vivid point of reference is to nearly 55 years ago as a 10 year old. We needed a radio or a gramophone to listen to music - and no, even cassettes had not come in yet at that time. For General Knowledge we went to the library, and turned to newspapers for latest news that would already be history by the time we read it. For movies we went to the cinema. All this used to cost precious time and money for commute and for cost of service or product.
But now, practically everything You can think of in terms or ideas, information or entertainment is at one’s fingertips; anytime, anywhere, and as long as the mobile phone is charged, such that practically everyone is even more fortunate than Aladdin and his wonderful lamp with You tube. Like air and sunshine we take all this for granted, but what happens for one day without You tube eh :)?!
This is my small tribute of appreciation and gratitude to You tube, incorporating with it nearly half a century of the March of Time and of Technology.

I’ve literally been trying to update this weird version of the app for the past three days, but it’s NOT EVEN DOWNLOADING! All that happens every time is that when I tap the update button, a line comes there saying that my iOS version is too old for the latest version, but I can still download the last compatible version. But when I tap on the ‘Download’ button, the same line keeps on coming again and again. Also, when I open the older version that is downloaded already on my iPad, it is written that I need to update it to use it. But I’ve been trying to update it for such a long time, but the loading sign doesn’t even stop and the same line keeps on coming again and again. So as for the rating, it’s a zero for me. Pls try to fix this bug that I told you about.

The new update, where tapping in videos takes the video at 2x speed is the worst update it was better and fluid experience with the older version where tapping and seeking through whole video was intuitive and useful tool ever.

Since the new update I have not been able to swipe left and delete shots from watch history like I can do with the videos it is just very inconvenient to delete them individually and sometimes even that doesn’t work I have to close the app and open it again and it keeps hanging up like I won’t be able to play or something else will not work but the rest will work so I have to close and restart the app it is very frustrating so if you could please just fix this as soon as possible it would be amazing

Recently many videos are freezing while being played. Even during the ads. Specially shorts videos. They just completely hang. And then tap on next video it play then next one stops. I want write about the advertisement in between the videos. The ads some time are of entire 3 to 6 mins as well and bcoz of which children’s and elder people are facing problem to skip that everyone is not that educated to learn the entire app. Rather u could just have the 15/30 secs advertisements and then if anyone want to see an entire add then for that u just can provide the link somewhere on the screen. The ads of this much time are actually not worth it.

You tube is an ocean of knowledge, learning, sharing and entertainment. What you want to know can be available with a snap of fingers.
I have a habit of sleeping late therefore I put my earphones and sleep with some light music on. Thereafter I do not recollect when did I sleep.
However I feel disappointed at times when the ads keep on going and interrupting my session. 60-90 seconds ads are acceptable but longer ads are disliked.

Since from mobile and internet era I am addicted for you tube. Most of the information is just like encyclopaedia that to along with videos, but some of the videos are not genuine. So forget about not genuine items.

Each and every videos last seconds are not viewable or any text are unreadable because of the thumbnails cards that appear on the screen, covering tlmost 80% of the screen and the video. if I have taken a paid subscription, where it says no ads, how do you get any right to put suggestions at the end of the video ( which for me is same as ad) and what right do you have to block me from viewing the complete video? This is so irritating and disgusting. Please look into this and provide an option to the user to enable/disable it. Do understand that there are content at the end of the videos, it's not for you to put promotions/suggestions/whatever you call it.

When a video is playing and ad comes on after we skip the add all that is over the video is in minimised form but still in expanded view means that the video is in one fourth of the screen and was that the screen is black. After minimising the video and then full screen in the video once again the video place in full screen this happens every time An ad comes!

Yt keeps crashing down again and again. Every time I have to log in again and I need to change settings all over again. I don’t know why it happens. Also, my internet connection is good but on some videos, I am not able to increase the quality as soon as I do it either it starts buffering or the whole app crashes (however at the same time for any other video it will work fine). Even there are some videos that don’t open at all and keeps on showing the loading sign.

The adds have become a major problem now. I get unskippable 2 minute adds sometimes. They even show adds after the video is finished now. And they’re e so shameless that they don’t even let the creators monetise the videos they’re literally putting 3-4 adds on for themselves.
Now, they’ve even removed the dislike button for pleasing the corporates. It has become a terrible platform for students, gamers, and others. There are usually alternatives for entertainment related stuff but education related platforms are hard to find. Once I get a better platform, I’m never coming back to this terrible platform.

I am just saying this because you might have subscribed to someone like 2-3 years ago and even their notifications come. But keep the ones where some one commented or liked . And if you see the notifications 2-3 times then it would go away but not like when you see the vid I mean notification hope you do this and refer to the other reviews as well

Hey team, I like your work on this app since it works out well for browsing on something or even studies. It clears all the doubts with videos. But, there are cases where I have a screenshot of a video and I have to see it again but I’m unable to do so. It may sound weird and I do not know if you can create that option but an effort on that would be really nice,

I rate this app a 4/5 it is an genius app because you can search anything comedy , drama , movies or series , youtubers ,educational stuff and plenty more. But there is one little minus point it’s that there are some really good small youtubers that put content daily and out of let’s say 58% percent only 1% percent come on main stream . For no reason some videos get taken down or demonetised . Other wise I would have rated this 5/5 .

I would love to rate 5/5 unfortunately i gave 3 stars as I’m not able to update the new version where in it asked to login with apple id password additionally but did not accept the password nor allowing me to change the password even after the verification, which is ironic and strange that i am able to access with the same password for iCloud and iTunes however You tube is showing error hence not able to update which is very disappointing because i would like to get the updated version and enjoy the service to the fullest.

In the new update released recently, quality of videos has been changed to low, high and advanced. Here if low is selected then video quality stays in 240p. If high is selected quality goes to 720p or 1080p according to availability. I want to see in 480p due to my internet availability. If I want to choose specific resolution then in every video I have to change it. So kindly resolve this issue for best experience in watching videos. Thanks!

From few days whenever i tap on search button and scroll down in the recent search, all the recent search disappear from there. This problem only occur when i scroll down in recent search. i hope you would resolve this issue as soon as possible.
And please reapply the old setting of changing video quality. It takes more time to change the video quality on my preference.

Very disappointed with new video quality options. I never writes review but this irritating options forced me to write.
Old options were really better .
Below are the few points due to which I don’t like new options.
- To select specific quality, required 2-3 more clicks to go in advance and then select.
- After setting quality from advance menu, I thought it will be apply to next videos but for every video I need to select. (To apply all videos there is a setting but I don’t want to apply for all other videos because whenever I want change in that I need to go to this settings every time)
Note : Previously it is really good that whenever i want to change quality, I just need to change in one video and it will apply to all subsequent videos.
- Also it is not playing continuously if I am not watching it. I need to tap on continue button.

It’s overall good but the recent update on video quality change is not good.. as I use 480p most of the time .. the setting is defaulted to either 240p (too less) data saver mode or 720 (too high) quality mode.. they should have given option of all video mode that can be selected on user preferences .. this recent update kills the mood.. as now we have to adjust the video quality every-time we play a video.

I’m using the app from beginning in my new ipad. All seems fine until i try to scroll down for more videos, it gets stuck and if you try to refresh it won’t, i could not play any video either after that. If i want to find more videos i need to restart the app always and it is really irritating. I regularly update the app but the problem persists Developers kindly fix this issue.

One main future that is missing right now is picture in picture. Picture in picture is available in iOS 14. So please make bring this feature immediately. It will be very useful and helpful

Ever since i updated to the newest version, this keeps happening. Whenever I click on a video to watch, it take about 5-10 seconds lag. The audio starts but the video freezes at the intro. The suggestions and the comment section takes about 10 secs to load. This is NOT a connectivity problem because after that initial stage the videos load very fast. This didn’t happen before. Please help!

This app is excellent. Thank you creators. I use this app everyday, there are a few glitches on iPad though, I still love it . On iPad, when I reload the page or minimise the app for a few minutes, I’m unable to tap on the videos. Kindly fix this glitch. And, all those people who say this app has too many advertisements, don’t hate on the ads. These ads are the way that your favourite youtubers earn money. I don’t mind seeing Ads, but it gets downright annoying when it pops up in the middle of a Classical piece of music. Spoils the whole listening experience. Another annoying interruption is the suspension of a playlist and asking whether one still wants to continue. I wouldn’t be starting a playlist unless I intend to listen to the songs in the playlist. I’ll stop it when I like.

Being on the YT premium for months now, all seems good except this one issue which bugs, and defeats a lot of purpose. If the playback in locked screen is paused, sometimes it resumes on clicking play again, but sometimes you have to open the screen, go to YT app, and then resume the play. This also sometimes doesn’t work, then you have to click on 10 seconds back to make it work.

When i’m reading the comments and an ad shows up at the end of the video, i have to scroll way down to the comment i was reading. Fix it, it’s really annoying. If you want us to watch the ad give us a full screen we have to close or something. Finally having scrolled down to a 4 year old comment just to be ruined by an ad is annoying.

I accidentally clicked one video of toy trains a few days ago and since then my timeline is flooded with toy train videos. Practically every second video of my app is about toy trains; about which I am not at all interested. Even if I am choosing ‘not interested’ or don’t recommend channel’, new videos are being flooded. Not sure how your algorithm works because it is clearly forcing videos out of my interest in my profile.

But you guys introduced that "swipe to next" feature. Our iPhone screens are so sensitive that a wrong touch would skip the video and we need to find it again. Please remove "swipe to next" feature. It ruined my whole experience! I've sent the same on app's feedback. The ugly side might be that, you are pushing users to purchase prime subscription with this. Just like introducing a problem and selling its solution. Cheap tactics.

I would like to share my feedback actually so that the experience with this app can be improved. It is just my personal opinion which may not match and represent for mass bumber of users. So I saw that with certain videos, the viewing window size is more different as compared to most of the other videos. Well I feel that we should do away with the need of rotating the screen by offering full screen size or say 60~70% of viewing window in the portrait mode.

Guys, while watching the video, if I swipe down for seeing the comments or any other video list, everything freezes and even the video. But the audio will continue. It doesn’t respond to touch. To put an end to that, I have to force close the app. One more thing, if I delete a video from my watchlist or history, the delete option appears for other videos also which I don’t want to remove. Please do check and fix this as soon as possible..

For user experience- background play feature is a must. Without this feature and not thinking of user experience - you may lose the ground like you lost the social media battle (Orkut) to Facebook.

I am facing the biggest issue that is, when i am watching the video and directly I press home button and go on home screen to do some work then when again i go back the app and the video freezes and we have to unfortunately close the app and start that again worst problem i have seen in the app. Also when we go back the full screen mode has been closed but the screen is full black with video running and the when we try to get back into full screen the the video and app both doesn’t work and gets freeze. Hope get this solved soon in the next update. Then 5 ⭐️ for app.

I dont know why do you guys release updates when you just have to create a new bug and remove the old one. Basically you people are not making app any better. In the previous versions the app would crash or videos would stop on their own and then when the update comes you cant comment or the video wont sync with the audio. I love youtube..everyone does but the battery comsumption is a big no gor watching videos plus u cant choose video quality on mobile data so that means auto 1080p and bam there goes your data😩 offline works great as expected other features are pretty close to perfect sometime synchronising doesnt work audio moves way ahead of the actual video... and the main thing it uses way to much battery
On ny iphone 7 plus when i m streaming at 720p 15 mins video it would absolutely crush the battery it takes around 15-20% batery single video WTH! Fix this issue please
