Public Orthodoxy is a flagship initiative of the Orthodox Christian Studies Center, first launched in 2015 as a platform for scholars to engage with contemporary issues in a way that resonates with a wider, non-academic audience. Since then, it has grown into a dynamic space that connects the ecclesial, academic, and political realms, featuring contributions from international scholars, bishops, priests, and laity. Most of the content is available in English, Greek, and Russian.
In 2023, Public Orthodoxy expanded its reach, offering more than just editorial content. Through this app, you can now access a variety of public-facing materials, including video recordings of events, webinars, sermon series, and more.
The app provides in-depth, independent reporting and analysis on topics affecting the Orthodox Christian community, covering theology, practice, culture, and the arts. It is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the intersection of Orthodoxy and contemporary global issues.
In 2022, Public Orthodoxy’s website was blocked in Russia by government authorities, but this app remains a reliable way to access our content despite censorship. We believe in the fundamental importance of freedom of information and are dedicated to continuing our mission to inform and engage readers worldwide.
