There are a huge number of movie formats, and VLC can convert most of them - but it can't convert everything. If you have any doubts, then please try the free version of this application first.

Völlig unbrauchbar, weil funktionslos. Die 1.79 hätte ich eher verlieren sollen, dann hätte sie vielleicht jemand gefunden. So waren sie völlig umsonst.

Hi Rob,
Ich packs nicht, das folgendes funktioniert:
.) mkv und mp4 Videos, hauptsächlich zwischen 5 Gb und 10 Gb und in 720p und 1080p vorhanden, werden von einer am Laptop angeschlossenen USB Festplatte ohne Ruckler am iPad3 wiedergegeben (nachdem ich das Häckchen bei Deinterlaced entfernt habe)
.) cool ist jetzt die Möglichkeit, mit dem VLC Streamer zum Apple TV zu gehen und folglich den iPad Stream über den Fernseher/Heimkino zu genießen,.....ruckelt selbst in der höchsten Auflösung nicht
- diese Variante hab ich nur mal ausprobiert. Fürs quasi selbe Ergebnis nutze ich nicht den VLC Streamer sondern die VLC Remote App, weil mein Laptop ohnehin per HDMI fix mit dem Fernseher verbunden ist.
- auch die VLC Remote App. kann ich nur empfehlen. Besser noch wäre
eine intuitive Symbiose mit der Streamer App. Hoffentlich programmiert
das mal jemand.
Echt geiles Teil. Mit dieser App. bin ich meinem Projekt "isch gucke, wann ich will, wo ich will und wie ich es will" einen rießen Schritt näher gekommen.

Bevor man auch nur überlegt diese App zu kaufen, sollte man das Geld lieber Spenden!
Diese App ist absolut wertlos, da das ach so tolle kopieren auf das iPad ca 15-30 min bei einer 20min Serie dauert!!
Wem das Geld Wert ist, der ist selber Schuld!!

You need to download the program for your Pc, without it won't work! It also doesnt Support all filetypes, so why is it called VLC?
When you buy it, you can copy the movies on your iPad.
You just need a better Computer than an Intel Atom. So a 5 year old machine can do this.
Also a (minimum) 100 Mbit Network is necessary if you want to watch it right now.

Funktioniert super!
Nur manchmal, wenn man Video unterbricht und ein anderes mal weiterschauen will, fängt es von vorne an oder es ist einige Minuten weiter als wo man aufgehört hat.
Und das vorspielen zb. 2 fache geschwindigkeit wäre fein und verfeinertes vorspielen wäre auch wünschenswert.
Wenn da noch ein wenig verfeinert wird, gebe ich gerne 5 Sterne.
Aber auch schon jetzt sehr empfehlenswert!,
Läuft super auf iPad 1 und iPhone 4.

this needs additional software installed on your computer, otherwise it doesnt run, also the help files are deactivated as long as you dont download this software
also it duplicates and converts every movie, which is only possible via that additional software, it doesnt use vlc at all besides probably some of the sourcecode and the icon

... Die ganzen Probleme, Filme zu konvertieren um sie dann aufs iPad zu kopieren.... Geschichte! Ich wähl den Film aus meinem dateisystem, und Schon stremmt er aufs iPad... Und aufs iPad Kopien geht genausoschnell!
Ein "Must have" für jeden, der gerne filme am iPad sieht!

Wenn nicht das grauenhafte User Interface wäre und die schlechte Übersetzung wäre es ja traumhaft. Kann sogar DVD Iso streamen.
Leider ruckelt es manchmal beim Live 1080p konvertieren wenn man nur einen Core2Duo Mac hat. Das App "Air Video" hat da die bessere Einstellung von Haus aus, kann auf Netzwerkfreigaben zugreifen und hat auch das viel schönere UI, kann aber leider keine DVD Iso streamen. Daher benutze ich beide Apps fürs Video schauen.

hab zwar manchmal auch probleme beim starten von einigen filmen aber en gro läuft die app zuverlässig. würde es noch sehr begrüßen wenn wirklich alle Formate funktionieren die vlc auch am pc spielen kann, also auch audioformate.

This app has a built-in "rm -rf", which deletes an entire folder without confirmation, beware!
I thought I removed a folder from the list within the app, only to discover that my whole video collection on the gard drive was gone. took me 80$ for a recovery software (which worked, btw).
streaming is working though, as long you haven't deleted your videos.
