Wärtsilä iSailor is an easy-to-use marine and river navigation application for amateur seafarers.
iSailor provides a clear presentation of navigational information, electronic charts and additional content.
TX-97 vector charts supported by iSailor are recognized worldwide as one of the most accurate and reliable sources of navigational information.

Chart folios can be purchased and downloaded in the iSailor Chart Store utilizing the standard iTunes Store payment/purchasing procedure. Chart correction service is provided on annual basis via the auto-renewable subscription service. iTunes will charge payment after confirmation of the chart correction purchase. You may manage your subscriptions and turn off the auto-renewal service in the Account Settings. Your subscription will automatically renew unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the subscription period. You can cancel your subscription in the Chart Store any time. All previously purchased chart folios will remain available for you and can be restored from the service via the Chart Restore function. To receive subsequent chart corrections for your purchased charts, you will need to subscribe to the annual updates in the Chart Store.
The application works on iPhone and iPad using built-in GPS, NMEA Wi-Fi GPS or an external Bluetooth GPS.

What’s new in Wärtsilä iSailor
In this latest release, we are introducing a new annual subscription service. This means that all newly purchased chart folios will include a free correction service available to you all year round.
Whenever you choose your next sailing destination and purchase the chart folio through the Chart Store, you will see the subscription end-date for your correction service under the folio name.
Each time when a chart update is available, you will see a star notification and an update button in the Chart Store.
Your subscription will automatically renew unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the subscription period. You can cancel your subscription in the Chart Store any time.
All previously purchased chart folios will remain available for you and can be restored from the service via the Chart Restore function. To receive subsequent chart corrections for your purchased charts, you will need to subscribe to the annual updates in the Chart Store.
NOTE: App Store will charge payment after confirmation of the chart correction purchase. You may manage your subscriptions and turn off the auto-renewal service in the Account Settings. If you re-subscribe, your new subscription will be automatically updated at the current price unless you cancel chart update service before the subscription period ends in Settings -> iTunes & App Store -> Apple ID -> View Apple ID -> Account -> Subscriptions.

Download broken, no reaction to support request
Updating the map for the adriatics which I paid for, has failed for a year now with an „unknown error“. Wärtsilä constantly ignores emails to customer support. They are, however, pretty much in time when it comes to the renewal of a subscription - even though the client gets nothing in return.
This is fraud, plain an simple.

Inzwischen leider enttäuschend
Zuerst zum Positiven. Die Software iSailor läuft ziemlich stabil, ist einigermaßen intuitiv und hat ein übersichtliches und vollständiges Handbuch. Sie kann selbst erstellte Routen, Tracks und Objekte in- und exportieren und hat damit schon einen kleinen Vorteil gegenüber Navionics, das zum Teil ohne Export und ohne Import auskommen muss.
Weniger gut ist, dass hinter jedem 3. Menüpunkt, eine Paywall steckt und selbst eine so einfache Funktionen wie vollständiges Logging kostenpflichtig ist. Genau so ärgerlich ist die Einführung eine automatisch erneuernden Subscription für die Karten. Warum? Ich segle 1-2 Mal im Jahr und immer in unterschiedlichen Gebieten. Das Update ist erst nach 2 oder 3 Jahren wieder sinnvoll. Ein Update anzubieten, wenn man wieder im selben Gebiet ist, wäre zielführender und benutzerfreundlich. Und genau genommen, habe ich die Updates bei meinen ursprünglichen Karten bereis mit gekauft. Die Updates waren im Kaufpreis der Karten inkludiert.
Was gar nicht geht, ist die Ungenauigkeit der Karten. Es gehört schon fast zum Standard, das Land-/Seegrenzen und Tiefenlinien zwischen Kartensegmenten extrem weit auseinander liegen. 300m Abstand ist keine Seltenheit. Ist jetzt das nördliche oder südliche Segment zutreffend? Passt die Karte im großen oder im kleinen Maßstab. Es kann nicht sein, dass in einer Karte weniger als 2 Meter tiefe eingezeichnet sind, und in der anschließende genaueren oder ungenaueren Karte der Bereich nicht einmal blau markiert ist. Genau so verschwinden Markierungen und Symbole oder werden Piers oder Landvorsprünge überdeckt.
Wer es nicht glauben kann, soll sich die Gegend in Griechenland zwischen Zakynthos und Corfu ansehen. Das Kartendatum ist vom Februar 2019.

Map Subscriptions
iSailor war ein sehr praktisches sowie einfaches App und stellte eine gute Alternative zu Navionics da. Seit dem Zeitpunkt als iSailor von Transas von Wärtisilä gekauft worden ist, wurden jedoch die bereits erworbenen Karten, welche unlimitierte Kartenaktualisierungen beinhalteten, auf Subscriptions umgestellt. Somit werden für die Benutzung der Karten jährliche Gebühren fällig, welche nicht unerheblich sind. Die App stellt keinen Mehrwert zu Navionics mehr dar. Ich bin aufgrund des Vertragsbruchs enttäuscht.

Bei meinen Kroatien Törns seit Jahren dabei. Plotte die Kurse, archiviere gefahrene/gesegelte Meilen usw. Karten immer aktuell - Bedienung ganz einfach. Daher: absolute Kaufempfehlung von mir!

Super Tool zum Planen eines Törns und eine perfekte Ergänzung zum GPS vom Schiff! Läuft stabil und die Karten sind preiswert und gut.

Ich nutze diese App zum Motorbootfahren in Kroatien. Die Karten werden ständig aktualisiert und die Navigation funktioniert einwandfrei! Einfach lesbare Karten und ständige Information über Kurs, Geschwindigkeit und Koordinaten. Eine der nützlichsten Apps auf meinem iPad.

Great App
I keep on amazing my fellow sailors with the ease of use and functionality of iSailor. Planning and executing that plan is so simple yet precise. The touchscreen makes it so straightforward. My other tool on board is a Garmin 78s which stayed in my pocket for most of the last 900 Nm trip. iSailor on iPad (for planning) and iPhone (while sailing) did the job. Including shallow water warning. I am hooked.

Am iPhone - klein aber oho!
Hat sich im Heurigen Sommer bewährt. Als unterstützendes System ausgezeichnet zu verwenden. Habe mit Karte und Plotter verglichen und war sehr zufrieden.
