Naja...

Grafik ist durchschnittlich bis schwach, Sound ok. Aber, AI dumm wie Brot. Angriff / Rückzug ist ein unlösbares Problem für das Spiel. Man muss sich selbst beschränken, um noch etwas Spaß an den Kämpfen zu haben. Buttons zu klein - verdrücken ist Programm. Keine Maps obwohl alle dungeons gleich aussehen.

Irgendwie machts trotzdem ein wenig Spaß.

Empfehlenswert

Rimelands ist ein traditionelles, rundenbasierendes Rollenspiel, bei dem Kämpfe über Würfel ausgetragen werden. Das hört sich jetzt öde an, ist aber in der Praxis gar nicht so schlecht, wenn man einmal das System verstanden hat. (Ich fühle mich ein wenig an Battle Isle Incubation erinnert.)

Aufgrund des Glücksfaktors kann man denselben Kampf in der Anfangsphase einmal haushoch gewinnen und dann ebenso hoch verlieren. Erst mit besseren Skills und mehr Würfeln steigt die Kontrolle. (Dies gilt besonders für Magier.) Das könnte einige Spieler nerven, denn es erfordert am Anfang mehrmaliges Laden des letzten Spielstands.

Bei 32 MB Umfang muss es irgendwo Abstriche geben und diese sind in der Geradlinigkeit der Missionen zu finden. Während die Grafik toll aussieht, ist die Spielewelt aufs Nötigste reduziert und eine Wahl zwischen drei Türen stellt sich oft als irrelevant heraus, da alle Wege sofort wieder zusammengeführt werden.

Insgesamt finde ich das Spiel sehr gelungen, auch die Steampunk/Magie-Welt. Wer wie ich mit japanischen Rollenspielen (Chaos Rings etc.) nicht zurecht kommt, ist mit Rimelands viel besser bedient.
