Well Balanced Economy News
One of the few sources with reliable, economy focused news with global relevance. Not pushing a progressive nor conservative view. Well researched and formatted for efficient reading with outstanding graphs.
Minor drawback is that the audio recordings are sometimes hard to understand and the playlist is not stopping (non selected articles are playing till the category is exhausted). It would be great if audio recordings for newest issues are already available on Fridays.

My go to source for Information about what‘s happening around the globe
Great coverage and explanations of economical and political events around the world. I really enjoy reading the columns with a lot of different subjects to choose from. I can‘t help but recommend „The Economist“ wholeheartedly. The price is justified in my eyes as quality journalism has its price.

Great newspaper, really bad app
The content is amazing, but the app is slow, sluggish and stutters. Each week I need to delete and re-install the app to read the new epaper. Please develop anew from scratch!

Eyes approve, storage not so much
I love the design and feel of the app. Everything runs super smooth and is easy to find. But for whatever reason the longer I have the app installed, the more storage it uses. Unfortunately this cannot be turned of in the settings. I have to delete the app every other months if I don’t want 8GB extra on my phone.
Pls fix!

Reliable substance and easy to read
On broad area of topics
Realistic reporting that is facts based
Sharp analysis
But should shed its typical UK midunderstandings on EU: ie that a Brussels bureaucracy decided: it does not because member states ministers decide; that member states have transferred sovereignty; they have not but they exercise it collectively: that the EU is indecisive: only on topics on which member states do not agree.

Please fix the app - it is unacceptably bad!
Since the latest update, it freezes, crashes, doesn't scroll proper etc. For a 300+ eur subscription, this is unacceptable.

Fix the app!
The journalism is great. The app is not. Sometimes it just crashes when reading mid article. It’s a bit of a 50/50 when opening the app whether it is going to lag when going from the home page to the weekly section. Even though I download the edition, not all images/graphs appear offline for me. This was not the case with the previous version of the app. The home page is a nice addition, with up to date information and very current articles. However, please fix the app!

Excellent content; dreadful app
The app is fragile and not user friendly. It always reverts to home page rather than the last page/article read. The audio is often unavailable or lost. It’s a great pity that the quality of the app degrades the access to the journalism.

A waste of effort
This concerns the app, not the magazine as such. Journalists and editors are not the problem here. I want to criticize several aspects: 1) the app is slow 2) there are often mistakes in the articles: words or even entire paragraphs are repeated, or paging is wrong. 3) the gifting of articles does not work well : if an article fails to send, it is still subtracted from your monthly quota. Five articles a month are too few. It should be double that. 4) the selection of articles is a poor reflection of the magazine. I would much rather have the full table of contents. 5) the whole app is redundant. You have a perfectly serviceable app in the legacy app, which is much simpler, works a charm and offers the full reading experience every week 6) I object to the Economist becoming a daily that offers bite sized articles on the latest news. Many others do it better, it has no added value. 7) you would be better off spending what must be an expensive venture on your journalists and what you do best : unparalleled analysis and background stories from around the world. Scrap the app!

Regarding the app, I miss a feature that automatically deletes older content. My app blocks already > 8 GB storage. I can, of course, from time to time delete the app and reinstall it. However, it would be great if there would be a feature where you can set how many editions are stored or for how long, like in apples podcast app. Thanks for your consideration!

I wish I could use the app upside down
This is the only app I‘ve come across that forces me to turn my iPad when I open it. (I, like many left handed people, routinely use my iPad upside down because the pencil only attaches (and charges) to one side.)

Rating is strictly for the app… every week i spend hours trying to get audio to work; its a gamble how much of this weeks issue i am going to be allowd to hear… constant loading, no way to understand what the issue may be… no its not my connection, no its not abailable disk space… it also persists for months now…

Text jumps while reading, app crashes often
There seems to be an issue with displaying ads. Ads appear and disappear while reading. Thus, the text frequently jumps which is extremely annoying. Since the update to the most recent version, the app crashes when opening on my iPhone XR. Really disappointed that such a quality publication has such a horrible app.
